A small card with warm words and graphics sent from the other side of the country or the world will please everyone without exception. It is a sign that someone thinks about us and remembers.
Although we have almost completely stopped writing traditional letters, handwritten postcards are still popular. We eagerly send cards from vacations and vacations, and some people practice the so-called postcrossing, i.e. exchange postcards with strangers from all over the world.
The magic of postcards lies in their simplicity – a small format, a picture or photo on one side, a space for a few words on the other. It’s a great way to show someone that we’re thinking of them, even if it’s hundreds of miles away. A card from a vacation or a long journey is a piece of the world we visited and a piece of our memories, which we entrusted to someone important.
Nothing stands in the way of sending a card to yourself either. Often, while we are already at home, our card is still traveling and when it reaches us, it will remind us of the most beautiful moments.
We love them for their variety – not only pictures of city views and landscapes, but also funny and designer graphics, regional and folklore motifs, cultural symbols, photos of artists, musicians and writers. Anyone who at least once in his life had to choose the perfect card for a friend, knows that this is not an easy task.
Postcards are little windows on the world. Once upon a time, before the era of the Internet, they allowed us to see distant places and feel a little as if we were there ourselves.
